Elizabeth Liang was in class when her phone suddenly rang in her pocket.
The classroom was extremely quiet, so the sudden ringing immediately drew everyone's attention.
Elizabeth wanted to dig a hole in the ground to hide. How could she have made the most basic mistake of forgetting to silence her phone?
Evelyn Wu nudged Elizabeth with her elbow, and made eyes at her to make Elizabeth silence it.
Elizabeth nodded and glanced at the caller ID — angry little lion!
Why was he calling her at this time? He's screwing her over!
This class was held by the dean, the woman known as "the Devil".
"I have stressed repeatedly that I will not tolerate phone ringing in my class. Turn off your phones, otherwise..."
Before the dean could continue, the phone rang again!
Elizabeth's face twisted as she hurriedly declined the call.
But as soon as she pressed the decline button, her phone rang again in protest.
"Elizabeth Liang!" The dean was livid, and she looked like she was about to bite Elizabeth's head off. "If I hear your phone ringing again, you won't have to attend this class anymore!"
James Lu, who was sitting in his car, dangerously narrowed his eyes. "How dare you hang up on me, Elizabeth Liang!"
He lowered his head, quickly typed out a text on his phone, then pressed send.
Elizabeth finally silenced her phone, but before she could even put it down, she received a text message from James — Elizabeth Liang, appear before me in two minutes or else you're dead!
Elizabeth frowned and lowered her head to reply, "I'm in class."
Soon, she received another text, "Then should I come over to collect you myself?"
Was he kidding?
- No it's fine, I'll find a way to get out T-T
Elizabeth cursed at James a hundred times over on the inside, and then left the classroom saying that she needed to go to the bathroom.
But she had no idea where he was, so she had to make a call."... Where are you?"
Elizabeth walked out of the school gates and saw James's car parked under a tree that was about 50 meters away.
When she's almost reached the car, the door of the driver seat opened. A handsome man in his late twenties who was dressed in an elite business attire, came out and said to her with a smile, "I'm glad to finally meet you, miss cleaning lady."
Elizabeth was flabbergasted.
He looked like a polite and decent enough man, who knew that he would talk like this? Miss cleaning lady?
Seeing her bewilderment, Samuel continued, "Hi, I'm Samuel Lee, Mr. Lu's special assistant." Then he walked to the other side of the car and opened the door for her. "Please get in."
Elizabeth finally saw that James was also in the car when she reached the door. He was wearing a casual outfit today instead of his usual business suit. The outfit consisted of a pair of light blue slacks and a short-sleeved polo shirt. He looked less sophisticated but more warm and friendly in a boy-next-door kind of way.
He was currently leaning back on his seat and gracefully working on his laptop computer.
When Elizabeth got on the car, James didn't even bother to look at her. Instead he continued staring at his laptop and snorted, "Look at you, hanging up on me whenever you please."
Elizabeth tried to explain, "It was the devil dean's lesson. You almost got me into huge trouble."
"I'm glad to hear that."
"You..."
Elizabeth glared at him furiously, but she blushed when she suddenly saw the scab on the corner of his lips.
Samuel started the car. Elizabeth had to ask James, "Where are you taking me?" James didn't even raise his head. "To sell you off, maybe?"
