"Because you're a drag." Theodore Chao looked at her, expressionless.
"Ha..." Elizabeth Liang couldn't help but laugh softly.
He had been engaged to her since she was a child. Through all these years, no one was as gentle and caring to her as he was. She really thought that he was the one.
He told her a month ago that he needed to go abroad for official business. She sent him off at the airport, and he told her to wait for him to come back...
Wait for him, so he could be with her cousin, and tell her that she's a drag?
A drag?
"Just because I didn't sleep with you?" Drowned in sadness, she stared into his eyes, hoping to find a trace of dishonesty.
But there was none.
"Elizabeth, we've known each other for so long. Leave before things get ugly."
Elizabeth felt like she had just heard a joke. "You want me to leave this place? This is Liang estate! It's mine! My parents left it to me!"
"Yours?" Like a smug villain, Charlotte Dong grabbed a document off the coffee table beside her and showed it to Elizabeth. "Take a good look, does it say the house is yours, Elizabeth?" Elizabeth looked at the paper in Charlotte's hand. The words "Property Transfer Agreement" printed in big letters made Elizabeth immediately widen her eyes.
It took her a while to finally calm down. "You thought you could deceive me with this careless imitation of my handwriting?"
"Who said it's fake?" Josephine Liang flipped her hair. "Didn't YOU sign it last night? So many people were watching. Are you trying to deny it, sis? Hmph! Like you can!"
In her muddled memory, she did vaguely recall Josephine bringing her something to sign. What did Josephine say at the time? Josephine said that was alcohol sent in by the karaoke manager, so they needed her signature.
Ha... Josephine waited till she was drunk...
"No... no..." Elizabeth shook her head hard. She never could have imagined that her uncle's family would treat her like this.
"By the way, the company shares don't have anything to do with you either." Charlotte took out another document and waved it boastfully, "You signed this last night too."
"What?" Elizabeth looked at Charlotte in utter disbelief, as if she had been struck by lightning. She couldn't understand what she meant.
"What am I saying? I'm saying that you have already transferred equity ownership to us. In other words, the Liang Group no longer has anything to do with you either. Get out of here!"
