Elizabeth Liang took advantage of the fact that she had no classes this morning and went to work at Kuture. She had returned and was walking with Evelyn Wu to the library.
Evelyn suddenly pulled her. "Elizabeth is that... your husband?"
Elizabeth looked over and saw James Lu.
Even though they had a small quarrel last night, Elizabeth's heart still skipped a beat from the nervousness and surprise of seeing him here.
Why was he at her school?
"Huh, why is Margot Wang with him?" Evelyn was puzzled.
"..." Elizabeth froze. She was so focused on how striking and luminous he was that she didn't pay attention to anything else.
Evelyn was right. Margot trotted alongside James as she fussed about something with a cloying expression on her face.
Evelyn grimaced. "I thought your husband was here for you, but he's with that pretentious woman Margot Wang. What the hell is your husband doing?"
"..." Elizabeth was in a pretty cheerful mood just a second ago, but now it was as if her legs were stuck in place. She just stood there and looked blankly towards him. She could feel a bitterness running through her entire body.
James was striding forward with his head held high when he suddenly spotted a familiar figure. He glanced over at her and saw that it was Elizabeth!
She seemed to have seen him already, judging by how she was standing still and staring at him with a blank expression.
James stopped his tracks and narrowed his eyes, but couldn't help thinking to himself, "How delighted she was to see me! She's so happy that she couldn't even walk!
Of course, Margot saw Elizabeth as well.
She remembered how James came to the school cafeteria a while ago to look for Elizabeth, so she threw a glare at Elizabeth.
Shameless disgraced b*tch, how dare she stare at James so blatantly!
Margot took a look at James, who was planted in the ground before her like a tall and majestic statue, and then looked at Elizabeth. She grinned her bright red lips as a scheme formed in her mind.
The grin disappeared from Margot's face. She then began charging towards James's direction.
She was about to hit James, but she didn't stop running.
"Ah..." Margot ran too fast and suddenly crashed into James who was in front of her. Her heels wobbled and she was about to fall to the ground.
Margot screamed and flailed her arms, "James..." James reflexively reached out at lightning speed and grabbed Margot's arm.
He frowned as if he had returned to being her big brother who lived next door. He scolded her, "Don't you know how to be careful? Why are you so scatterbrained?"
"Okay." Margot nodded her head, but she was secretly pleased. She pretended to insist on standing up by herself while struggling. Her heels wobbled as she lost her footing, then she took the chance to fall right into James's arms.
"I'm so glad you were here, James. Otherwise, it would've been so embarrassing for me."
Margot was so determined to let that disgraced heiress Elizabeth Liang witness the drastic difference between them that she didn't care about anything else. Thinking back on it though, it was kind of scary. She was wearing a miniskirt today. If it weren't for James's lightning reflexes, she would've been on the ground, and that would've been ugly.
Although Margot shuddered at the thought, she still couldn't help but feel overjoyed. Her James was attractive, smart, and even so athletic. He really was the hottest guy in the world!
