Seeing James go downstairs, Lydia stopped watching TV and quickly ran to James's side. "Kid, what did your father say to you?"
James was in a good mood. He grinned, "What else could happen? His son almost made a big mistake today. He was punishing me with family laws. Do you believe it?"
Lydia obviously didn't believe it. She patted him on the shoulder and pretended to be angry, "I will be happy if he really has punished you."
"Lydia, am I really your biological son?"
"Of course not." Lydia spread her hands. "Back then, we were lucky and picked up a child from the trash can outside the house. Go out and have a look. The trash can is still there."
"I see." James nodded happily.
"I'm asking you. What did your father say to you?"
"Do you want to know?" James raised his eyebrows.
"Of course! Tell me now!"
James stopped smiling and said, "Then just
go upstairs and ask Mr. Lu yourself."
"Oh!" Lydia was speechless. "You naughty kid. You really want to be punished today, don't you?"
"Forget it." Lydia waved her hand disappointedly. "If you don't want to say, then forget it. Go and stay with Elizabeth. If she wakes up, tell her to have some food. We made her soup. She should take in more nutrition now."
Speaking of Elizabeth, James stopped joking and said, "She was travelling the whole day without resting much. She's been through a lot these two days. I think she will be sleeping for a while. I'll go later."
"Then what do you want to do? Watch drama with me?" Lydia glared at him with dissatisfaction. "When she wakes up later, shouldn't be someone in the bedroom? If she wants to go to the restroom or drink water, it's better to have someone with her."
"If someone else didn't know about this, they would think she's your daughter. Lydia, what's my rank in your heart?"
Although he said that, James was not jealous at all. On the contrary, he felt a warmth in his heart.
It was said that it was art for a mother-in-law and a daughter-in-law to get along well. But Lydia and Elizabeth got along very well, and they really looked like the real family.
"Go away!" Lydia snorted impatiently, "She is my daughter-in-law, then of course she can be considered as my daughter." Saying it, Lydia looked James up and down and said, "As for you, you can go now."
James raised his eyebrows and nodded. "Roger that."
Seeing James turned to walk to the gate, Lydia hurriedly stopped him, "Hello? Where are you going?"
James sighed and turned back to say, "I have something to do and will be back soon." He took a look at the upstairs and said, "Lydia, when your daughter wakes up later, make sure she has some food."
James parked the car at the meeting point. He looked at his watch and found that the person he was to meet had been late for more than ten minutes.
James was quite impatient usually, and very punctual.
Perhaps it was because he was happy to have found Elizabeth; or Samuel called and told him things were settled. Plus, he was the one who have owed other's a favor. James wasn't annoyed or impatient at all after waiting for a while.
