Colbert sat down next to Eudora, picked up a glass of red wine, and started drinking.
As time ticked by, the two leisurely sipped their wine while Eudora watched a variety show. She seemed to have a low threshold for laughter and chuckled loudly from time to time. When she was in particularly high spirits, she would pat Colbert on the shoulder and say, "Look at them, haha, they're hilarious. That person is so clumsy.
"Oh, I can't take it anymore. This is too funny. It's making my stomach hurt from laughing.
"Wrapping an ice cube in a quilt will only melt it faster. My goodness, doesn't he have any common sense? He's too adorable."
When Colbert was alone in the spacious apartment, it was so quiet that it felt lifeless. But because of Eudora, Colbert experienced a new feeling.
It was like home filled with laughter, immersing him in a comforting atmosphere instead of the usual cold one.
He looked at Eudora, who was laughing like a child. She seemed to have let her guard down around him. Her happiness was infectious, making him feel joyful as well.
After a while, Eudora finally fell asleep on the couch.
She looked adorable like a naive little girl napping on the couch.
Colbert drained his wine, put down his glass, and walked over. He wanted to stroke her cheek but remembered her wary look in the elevator. Instead, he gently picked her up and carried her to the guest room.
He bent down and softly placed her on the plush bed. But before he could straighten up, Eudora wrapped her arms around his neck, preventing him from moving.
Colbert frowned and tried to move again, but Eudora clung to him and mumbled, "Ugh... Don't move."
