Impulsive Vow to an Enigmatic Husband novel Chapter 1158

Marcus shook his head.

"Marc, I get that you're worried about Cornelia having doubts, but she's your wife. She has a right to know the truth. You don't need to tire yourself out trying to keep this from her." Dr. Lester practically shouted in frustration.

Marcus lifted his head, looking coldly at Dr. Lester, "If you tell her, I'll make sure you lose your ability to speak."

Even though Marcus was stuck in bed, his aura was still intimidating, almost terrifying. Dr. Lester had reason to believe that if he dared to provoke Marcus, Marcus would probably get up and hurt him.

"Don't worry. I won't tell Cornelia without your permission. But if I help you hide this from her, you need to keep your promise." Dr. Lester said.

Marcus didn't respond, slowly closing his eyes.

"Marc, you can't break your promise!" Dr. Lester insisted.

After a moment, he heard Marcus murmur, "I promised I would cooperate with the doctors, no matter how painful the treatment. As long as I can live one more day, I'll do everything to make it happen."

To live one more day meant one more day with Cornelia, one more day to see how she was doing. In the past, Marcus wasn't afraid of death, because there was nothing in the world he cared about. But now, he was scared. He was scared he wouldn't wake up, wouldn't see Cornelia again, or wouldn't be able to keep his promise to grow old with her.

He was even more scared of Cornelia finding out about his death, scared she wouldn't be able to handle the blow, she would blame herself, and she wouldn't be able to live a good life!

No matter what, Marcus had to find a way for Cornelia to live well!
