Impulsive Vow to an Enigmatic Husband novel Chapter 1191

Dr. Lester quickly shot Cornelia up with a tranquilizer, figuring she should be right as rain once she woke up. Marcus held Cornelia in a tight grip, not saying a word, but everyone there could tell how much he cared for her.

Dr. Lester said, "Marc, Cornelia will be fine. You can take her back to your room to rest."

Marcus nodded, carrying Cornelia upstairs and gently laying her on the bed. He then turned around to fetch her pajamas and carefully cleaned her face with a damp towel. After all that, he sat by her side, his gaze never leaving her for a moment.

He lifted her hand, gave it a kiss, then said with love, "Cornelia, I can't be with you on your journey ahead. You'll have to go it alone."

Cornelia, deep in sleep, didn't hear him but still furrowed her brows.

...

Cornelia woke up at six in the morning. As she opened her eyes, she met a pair of deep-set eyes. Seeing Marcus looking a bit off, Cornelia reached out to touch his face, asking, "You look unwell, what's up?"

"Really?" Marcus held her hand, pulling her into his embrace, "Maybe I'm just a bit peckish. I'll be fine after breakfast."

Cornelia let him hold her, no matter how long he wanted to, but he soon let go. "Let's get up, wash up, and head to the office after breakfast."

Cornelia asked, "Are we going to the office for work handover? I forgot to ask last night, who's the new assistant you've chosen?"

"You'll find out soon." Marcus replied.

"Still playing guessing games with me, huh?" Cornelia asked.
