It was already after work hours, and only Marcus and Cornelia were left in the CEO's office. Marcus lifted his hand, gently brushing Cornelia's stray hair behind her ear, and asked, "Have you finished all the resignation procedures?"
Cornelia nodded, "Yes. From now on, you're no longer my boss and won't get to boss me around anymore."
Marcus chuckled, "From now on, I'll listen to you."
"Alright. Let's go out for dinner tonight. I just made a pretty penny, and I want to treat you." Cornelia said, draping her arm around his.
Marcus replied, "Sounds good."
"What do you feel like eating?" Cornelia asked.
"I'm not picky, we can eat whatever you want." Marcus said.
"Are you sure you're not picky? Have you forgotten that you even choose your water carefully?" Cornelia couldn't believe Marcus would say he was not picky.
Marcus replied, "That was in the past. Now that I'm with you, I find everything delicious."
This made Cornelia feel incredibly sweet. She tiptoed to his eye level, "Me too. Everything tastes fantastic when I'm with you."
Marcus wrapped his arms around Cornelia's waist, lifting her up and pulling her closer, "Cornelia."
Because they were so close, his breath lightly brushed past her nose, making her feel ticklish, very ambiguous. Cornelia thought he was about to kiss her and instinctively closed her eyes. But instead of his kiss, she heard his low laughter, "What on earth are you thinking about all day?"
Cornelia immediately opened her eyes and glared at him in annoyance, "Hmph, if you don't want to kiss me, that's fine, but don't mock me. I don't want to talk to you anymore."
