Was President Hartley hinting at something? Were President Hartley and Cornelia a couple? Had he been waiting for Cornelia to acknowledge his identity?
Cornelia smiled and said, "Let me introduce, President Hartley is my husband."
The two executives turned green with envy, "Oh, Ms. Stewart..."
It seemed a bit weird to call them that though, as they were the CEO and the CEO’s wife of the company!
"You guys enjoy your meal, we've also booked a room here." Then, Cornelia left, hand in hand with Marcus.
The executives watched their backs, both sighing, "So the CEO’s wife we’ve been curious about has been right under our noses all along."
...
Although Marcus said he was up for anything, Cornelia still thoughtfully arranged his favorite dishes, all of which were light in taste. However, Marcus only had a few bites before he stopped eating.
"Not to your taste?" Cornelia asked.
"I'm going to use the restroom." Marcus said.
"Okay." Cornelia said.
Marcus spent quite a while in the restroom, and by the time he came back, the food had already gone cold. Seeing his pale face, Cornelia asked, "Are you feeling okay?"
Feeling really unwell, Marcus knew he couldn't hide it from Cornelia, nor did he intend to. "Yeah, I'm not feeling too good."
Cornelia immediately put down her utensils, took out the medication Dr. Lester had given her at noon from her bag, "Take this medicine first. Dr. Lester said it's specially made and it will help your body."
Marcus put the pill into his mouth. It couldn't ease his pain, but he wanted Cornelia to rest easy, so he swallowed it. After taking it, he said, "This medicine works wonders, I feel much better now."
Cornelia poured him a glass of water, "Have some water."
