Impulsive Vow to an Enigmatic Husband novel Chapter 1201

Patricia stopped fretting and decided she would do whatever it took to protect her home. She wouldn't allow anyone to meddle in Marcus and Cornelia's marriage or destroy their relationship.

Men, they were all the same, prone to occasional screw-ups. But as long as they were set straight in time, life could carry on just fine.

"Marc, we're fresh out of beddings. I washed some extra quilts today, and they're still out drying. We might not be able to host Miss Tahlia for the night. I'll tell Austin to drive her home after dinner." Patricia said, knowing full well there were spare beddings at home. But she knew Marcus well and trusted he would go along with her.

"Marc, you've never been a fan of having too many people around. Having an extra person might disturb your sleep." Patricia said, smiling at Tahlia, "Miss Tahlia, you wouldn't want to stay, would you?"

Tahlia looked at Marcus, "President Hartley, perhaps I should leave."

Marcus looked at Patricia coldly, "If you can't even manage this, I can find someone else to do it."

Patricia didn't expect Marcus to defend Tahlia so fiercely, "No, Marc."

Marcus wanted Tahlia to stay, a message Cornelia clearly got. She didn't want Patricia to cause further trouble, "Patricia must be tired today, I'll handle it."

"Appreciate it." Marcus said.

This was Marcus' reply to Cornelia. However, when Cornelia looked at him, his eyes had already shifted to Tahlia.

Cornelia wanted to say something but didn't know what to address. Dinner was finished in an odd atmosphere.

...

After dinner, Patricia cleaned up while Cornelia took Tahlia upstairs. Following Marcus' instructions, she prepared a new room for Tahlia with fresh beddings and even made the bed for her.

"Tahlia, are you satisfied? If there's anything you're not happy with, let me know, and I'll try to fix it." Cornelia said.

Tahlia asked, "Are you mad at me?"
