Cornelia had something to say but swallowed her words when they reached her lips. She ended up with, "I just feel like people can change so easily."
"Well, it depends on who you're talking about. For instance, the three of us, we've held important places in each other's hearts for so many years and that has never changed." Abigail responded.
"Yeah." Cornelia nodded. The ones she could truly rely on were the friends she had grown up with. As for others, she should never take their sweet talk at face value.
...
After leaving her studio, Cornelia drove back to the Hartley Mansion.
Granny Luisa really wanted Cornelia to live with her at the Hartley Mansion. But seeing Cornelia return without Marcus, she started to worry again, "Nelly, why are you back again?"
Smiling, Cornelia asked, "Are you getting fed up with me?"
"Don't talk nonsense, how could I ever get tired of you? I'm just worried that I'm taking up your time, and you won't have the time to work on your relationship with Marc." Granny Luisa said.
"Relationships don't need to be 'worked on'. Either it's there or it ain't." Cornelia replied.
Granny Luisa chuckled, "You're right."
"You haven't had lunch yet, have you? Let's eat together." Cornelia suggested.
"Alright." Granny Luisa agreed.
...
At the dining table, Cornelia busily served Granny Luisa.
"Granny Luisa, do you still have a nutritionist planning your meals?" Cornelia asked.
