When Cornelia looked up at the wrinkled little face, her heart sank, "Is this my baby?"
Jeremy was so handsome, and she was quite beautiful herself. Their child should be good looking too. But this little one had a face all wrinkled up like a little monkey, totally not resembling her or Jeremy.
Cornelia was a bit puzzled, "Patricia, could there be a mix-up?"
Patricia was startled by the question, "Nelly, from the moment the baby came out of you, I've been right there, never took my eyes off for a second. No way there was a switch. You can trust me on this."
Patricia then turned to Jeremy, "Jeremy, not just me, but Ayden too, he never left the baby either. The baby is definitely not mixed up."
"Don't worry, Cornelia is probably just not used to how the baby looks." Jeremy comforted.
Cornelia said, "Patricia, I'm not doubting you. Could it be possible that the child is mine, but not Jeremy's?" Otherwise, how could Jeremy's good genes produce such an unattractive child.
"What nonsense are you talking about?" Jeremy frowned. She only had him, he knew this better than anyone. How could she possibly have someone else's child?
Cornelia asked, "Then why is our baby so unattractive?"
Patricia laughed helplessly, "Nelly, you might not know this, but newborns are just like that. Jeremy himself, when he was born, was even worse. The baby will get better-looking in a few days. I think the baby looks like you and Jeremy, definitely going to be a handsome lad."
"Really?" Cornelia asked.
Patricia said, "Absolutely."
"Can the baby sleep with me?" Cornelia laughed.
