Impulsive Vow to an Enigmatic Husband novel Chapter 1523

Christmas was just around the corner.

Hope was already ten months old. At ten months, most babies could start uttering 'mama' and 'daddy'.

Jeremy, after planting a kiss on Hope, said, “Once you've called me 'daddy', you must call mama too.”

Hope, with his big round eyes fixed on Cornelia, tried to reach out with his tiny arms. He babbled 'daddy' but refused to say 'mama'.

Cornelia took Hope into her arms, feeling a pang of disappointment that her child, whom she bore through nine months of hardship, refused to call her 'mama'. “Do you think it’s because I spend too little time with him that he won't call me 'mama'?” Cornelia asked.

After her postnatal recovery, Cornelia had devoted herself to her work on her comics. Her work had gained popularity, and their San Manga Studio was doing better by the day.d2

Her work kept her so busy that she had little time to spend with Hope, who was primarily looked after by Jeremy. This was something she rued, especially when compared to the time Jeremy spent with their son.

Concluding that this was probably why Hope was not as close to her, Cornelia resolved to spend more time with him, no matter how busy she was.

Hope was growing fast, from a tiny baby who could fit in the palm of her hand to a nearly twenty-pound bundle of joy. She did not want to miss his growth, knowing that once missed, those moments could never be relived.

Jeremy, not wanting to see Cornelia upset, comforted her, “Don't overthink it. Our Hope is not even a year old. He's just starting to talk. He won't master the whole vocabulary overnight.”

Just as he said this, Hope uttered, “mama.”

At the sound of this, Cornelia’s face lit up with joy. She showered Hope with kisses, saying, “You naughty boy, mama thought you were upset with me because I didn't spend enough time with you.”

Jeremy, hugging them both, chimed in, “Buddy, you can't upset mama like that anymore, okay?”
