Briana didn't want to leave Cornelia, but had to do as her brother said, "Cornelia, I totally spaced out and forgot about our shopping trip because I was on the phone for so long. I didn't mean to ditch you."
Cornelia responded, "Why do I get the feeling you did?"
Briana was unsure if Cornelia was onto something and felt a knot in her stomach. "Why would you think I ditched you on purpose?"
Cornelia replied, "Woman's intuition."
Just intuition, no concrete evidence. Briana thought she was in the clear. "Woman's intuition can be spot-on, but it's not always 100%. Trust me, I didn't mean to leave you and my brother. Can you forgive me? I swear I won't do it again."
Cornelia decided to tease her, "I don't feel like forgiving you."
Briana was totally thrown for a loop, "Why won't you forgive me? Do you not like me anymore?"
Hearing Briana's voice filled with panic, Cornelia realized she might have pushed the joke too far. "Bri, I was just messing with you."
Briana was nearly in tears, only to find out Cornelia was joking. "When did you become such a prankster? You scared the life out of me. I thought you were mad at me and wouldn't like me anymore."
Cornelia laughed and said, "I like you! A lot!"
Briana responded, "I like you too, a whole lot!"
