"Love is the accumulation of fate and the time we invest in each other," Cornelia was confused as to why Marcus had suddenly become so stern, instinctively leaning towards the car window.

Marcus realized his tone might have frightened her, so he quickly adjusted his mood, trying to speak to her calmly. "I know you guys grew up together and are very close, but you're adults now, especially you, you're married. You should maintain a proper distance.
