Zavier was getting more and more pissed off, "You seem to trust Marcus a lot. Have you got a crush on him or something?"
He was always nice to Skyler, but Skyler always managed to dodge him. Cornelia, who didn’t even know she was Marcus's wife, placed a high level of trust in Marcus.
He just couldn't figure that out.
Cornelia responded simply, "Marcus is my boss. If I don't trust him, should I trust you instead?"
Zavier retorted, "You're dodging the question."
Cornelia confessed openly, "I do like him! Who wouldn't like a guy as fantastic as him? But it's just professional admiration, not love."
"Are you sure you don't have any romantic feelings for Marcus?" Zavier wished that what Cornelia was saying was true. In their circle of friends, Steven and Lucas had very happy marriages. If Marcus also had a happy marriage, he would be the only one left alone, and that would make him feel pretty crap.
Cornelia glared at him, "You think I'd meddle in someone else's relationship like you?"
Despite being called out by Cornelia, Zavier didn’t care, "Since you don't have feelings for Marcus, why not choose me? If you choose me, I can give you whatever you want. You wouldn't need to chase around after Marcus trying to make money anymore."
Cornelia put down her fork, “I’m done eating.”
Zavier was surprised, “Why all of a sudden stop eating?”
Cornelia said, "Your words made me lose my appetite."
