Natalia suddenly blurted out, "If you're not letting me hang out with Cornelia, then you better help me get Marc. Or get me the hell away from Cameron, away from Riverton. I can't stand another day with that freak."
Clair immediately pulled her into a hug, gently patting her back and saying, "Hang in there, Natalia. Just a little longer, everything will be alright."
Natalia pushed Clair away, rolled up her sleeve, and shoved her bruised arm in Clair's face, "Look at this, all done by Cameron. He gets pissed off outside and takes it out on me at home. If I stay in that house any longer, he'll beat me to death. Why do you keep telling me to hang in there? Am I even your child?"
Smack!
Clair slapped Natalia's face hard, looking furious, "I raised you, gave you the best life possible. Now you're all grown up, yelling at me and questioning if I'm your real mother. You've really disappointed me, Natalia."
The slap rang loud and clear. It should've hurt, but Natalia felt nothing. As if her body had already numbed to this kind of pain.
She touched her slapped face and suddenly laughed, "So now even you're hitting me! You gave birth to me and raised me. All so you could hit me whenever you want?"
"You're crazy!" Clair looked at Natalia coldly, gestured for a bodyguard, "Take her home, don't let her embarrass us in public."
Natalia gave a cold laugh, "So, speaking the truth is now embarrassing? But me throwing myself at Marcus isn't? He's a married man, and he loves his wife. But you want me to be the mistress and that's not shameful? Because he's Marcus, because he's richer than us, the Reese family. I should throw away my dignity to get close to him. This world really worships money!"
Clair slapped Natalia again out of anger, "Take her home. She's not to leave the house without my permission."
Natalia shook off the bodyguard's hand, "You better keep your word, don't let me leave the house."
Clair was fuming, "You!"
