Zack lightly prodded Abigail's forehead, "Abigail, are you out of your mind? Even if you're not using fake certificates to do bad things, the act of making them is illegal. Don't ever do that again."
"What?" Abigail picked up the marriage certificate and looked at it over and over again. Unable to believe that the man in the photo was Marcus, she rubbed her eyes, closed them, then opened them again. The photo on the certificate was still Marcus' face, "Ah—"
She let out a shrill scream, excitedly bouncing around the room, "Oh my God, I can't believe the two people I wanted to be together are actually married!"
Cornelia said sternly, "You better destroy that fake certificate now, or I'm done with you."
Abigail presented the marriage certificate to Cornelia and Zack, "Cornelia, Zack, look closely. Look at this official seal, and look at this cover, can a fake certificate look this real? Do you really think I'm so bored that I made a marriage certificate for you and Marcus?"
Cornelia and Zack said in unison, "You totally could!"
Alright, she had done this kind of thing before, more than once. In college, she was infatuated with a male celebrity and made a fake marriage certificate between her and him. Later, when she started working and developed a crush on a model, she made another fake marriage certificate between her and him.
Recently she'd been crazy about Marcus, so Cornelia and Zack's first reaction to the marriage certificate was to suspect it was a forgery.
Abigail said, "I swear this time I didn’t do it. Think about it, Marcus never lets people take his picture. Where would I get his photo?"
Cornelia firmly believed it was a fake, "You could use software to photoshop it, you've done it before."
Abigail felt her explanations were in vain, "Cornelia, believe me. I really didn’t do it this time."
