"Who the heck are you? Do you realize we can sue you for defamation?"
Leonardo and Cornelia's relationship was mostly squabble-filled, neither of them big fans of each other, but if anyone tried to tarnish Cornelia's reputation, Leonardo wouldn't stand for it.
He continued, "Ryan, you're a lawyer, you should teach this spiteful woman a lesson. Defaming others can lead to serious consequences. How many years could she be sentenced to if it's severe."
Ryan played along, "That depends on the severity of the situation and how much damage the slander has done to the person's reputation and life."
The woman in black was clearly prepared. She fearlessly retorted, "Well since there's a lawyer among you, can you kindly tell this thief what the consequences of stealing are? Especially when it's something worth thirty million dollars?"
Without giving anyone the chance to respond, the woman in black eyed Cornelia, "You're not bad looking, quite pretty actually. Made a decent amount of money through shady means, I suppose. Why the need to steal then?"
In society, the most effective way to stigmatize a woman was through malicious slander. Cornelia had seen too much of this over the years.
Now being attacked like this, she barely flinched.
"Who the hell are you? If you continue this nonsense, I'll make you regret it!"
Coming from a wealthy family, Leonardo wasn't used to being bullied. Hearing such an insult, he got instantly pissed,
"Look, he's getting upset. Guilty, perhaps?" The woman in black raised her voice, attracting the attention of the guests.
With the crowd growing, naturally, it caused a stir. Cameron appeared at the scene just in time, "What seems to be the problem here?"
