Just as she felt him nearing, Cornelia cracked one eye open to see him toweling off his hair, with no intention of using a blow-dryer.
He was of weak constitution, and could easily catch a cold with wet hair. Even though she was still pissed, Cornelia couldn't help but worry for him, "I'm not asleep yet. Use the blow-dryer."
Marcus asked, "You're not asleep? Or did I wake you up?"
Cornelia replied, "I wasn't sleeping."
Marcus chuckled, grabbed the blow-dryer and sat at the edge of her bed, "You help me blow."
Cornelia retorted, "No way!"
Men should not be spoiled!
She had helped him blow-dry his hair once at a hotel a couple of days ago, and now every time he wanted to dry his hair, he expected her to do it. She absolutely couldn't spoil him, or he'd definitely develop bad habits.
Even though she was adamant about not spoiling him, Cornelia obediently sat up, took the blow-dryer from his hand. She turned it on, adjusted it to the perfect temperature, and started drying his hair.
His hair was short and the blow-dryer was powerful, so it didn't take long for his hair to dry.
When Cornelia handed the blow-dryer back to him, he took the chance to hold her hand, "Cornelia, I apologize for Bri. She won't do it again."
Cornelia said, "Who asked you to apologize for her? She's an adult, can't she apologize herself? Why does she need your help?"
Marcus responded, "I'm punishing her to reflect at home and not allow her to step out of the house. She'll apologize to you in person tomorrow."
Cornelia said, "Why are you punishing her? She's still a child, it's normal to make mistakes. Don't punish her." It was Cornelia who said Briana was an adult and needed to take responsibility for her actions, and it was also her who said Briana was still a child. She really had it both ways.
