The second she heard that, Cornelia felt so embarrassed she couldn't bear to listen anymore. She blushed and hurriedly left.
Seeing her red-faced exit, Granny Rebecca and Patricia asked with concern, "Nelly, what did you hear? Why's your face so red?"
"Just... tell Marc I’m waiting for him outside when he comes out." Cornelia quickly walked away after barely finishing her sentence, knowing they'd interrogate her if she had stayed.
Cornelia waited forever in the garage until Marcus finally showed up. She didn't know what he and Granny had chitchatted about and felt too awkward to ask. She kept quiet after getting into the car.
"Why aren't you asking about my chat with Granny?" Marcus asked first.
Cornelia didn’t want to ask. She knew he’d spill the beans if she did, and she wasn't keen on dealing with that kind of awkwardness. "Granny Luisa wanted a private chat with you for a reason. I'm considerate. I don't want to put you in a tight spot."
Marcus just chuckled and didn't say more. They arrived safely at the location Hannah had sent.
Marcus parked on the side of the road. "We're staying at Blueshell Mansion tonight. Give me a ring after your meeting, I'll come pick you up."
Cornelia replied, "The Mansion is just a short walk from here, and it'd be quicker to walk than drive. No need to pick me up. I can walk back. You should get some rest."
Marcus, "Can't I walk over to get you?"
Cornelia, "That works too."
After getting out of the car and closing the door, she headed towards the building. Much to her surprise, she bumped into Leonardo, whom she hadn't seen for a while. "Cornelia, what a coincidence, didn't expect to run into you here."
"Yeah, small world," Cornelia replied, feeling a bit uneasy, and instinctively looking back.
Following her gaze, Leonardo noticed the familiar luxury car. "President Hartley is really good to you, even letting his driver chauffeur you around."
