Cornelia said, "Nah, he's not like that. He's always got my back, respects all my thoughts. My granny wants to see my kid. She's getting on in years, and we don't know how much longer she's got. I don't want her to leave this world with any regrets, so I've decided she should meet my kid sooner rather than later."
Abigail responded, "Cornelia, do you ever think you're being kinda selfish?"
Cornelia asked, "How so?"
Abigail went on, "You seem to be treating Marcus like a baby-making machine."
Cornelia said, "That's not true."
Abigail asked, "Do you even like him?"
Cornelia thought for a moment, "He's a looker, and he's loaded. What woman wouldn't like him? I suppose I do like him."
Abigail said, "You 'suppose'? Are you sure about that?"
Cornelia shot back, "I haven't had eyes for any other man. How does that make me selfish?"
Abigail said, "It makes you even more selfish. You're not even sure if you like him, and yet you've slept with him."
Cornelia said, "He's my husband! Our relationship is perfectly legitimate!"
Abigail was speechless. She was totally lost for words!
Cornelia said, "That's not what you told me before. You're the one who told me that he's my husband, I'm his only wife, and I can do whatever I want."
Abigail said, "I was just blowing smoke."
