Marcus draped his jacket over Cornelia, "Alright, I won't touch you. Take a breather, maybe we can head home first, cool?"
Cornelia snapped back, "I told ya, it ain't my home."
Marcus was pretty stubborn about this issue. He knew exactly what to say to calm her down, but he chose not to. "Cornelia, we're legally married. Whether you like it or not, we're family. My home is your home. I belong to you, and everything I have is yours. We're in this together. No one can tear us apart..."
Cornelia retorted, "I don't want that!"
While they were arguing, Zack drove up in a rush. He slammed on the brakes, stopping the car next to Cornelia, then got out, glaring at Marcus. "What the hell did you do to Cornelia?"
Cornelia knew their argument would only get more complicated with Zack involved. She opened the car door and quickly got in the passenger seat, "Zack, let's get outta here."
Without any explanation from Cornelia, Zack drove them home. He knew something must've happened between Cornelia and Marcus, but he didn't ask. After driving for a while, Zack noticed a limited-edition luxury car tailing them. Not many people in the world could afford such a car. So, Zack immediately knew who it was, "Marcus has been tailing us."
Cornelia didn't respond.
Zack lost his temper, slamming his fist on the steering wheel, "What the hell did he do to you? I'm gonna give him a piece of my mind!"
Cornelia stared ahead, still silent.
Zack continued, "Cornelia, talk to me!"
Cornelia asked, "My stuff at home, you didn't let anyone move it, did you?"
Zack replied, "I ain't a fool, I wouldn't let anyone touch your stuff without your say-so."
