"I'm here to mourn Nelly's grandma and also to see Nelly." Clair tried to squeeze out a few tears, "Nelly's dad passed away early, and her grandma was her only rock. Now that her grandma's also kicked the bucket, I'm worried Nelly is gonna have a hard time..."
What Clair was saying was exactly what Tanisha and others were worried about, "We share the same concerns. So we can only try our best not to leave Nelly alone for a short time. We can only spend more time with her and comfort her as much as possible."
Clair went on, "After all, Nelly's only family has passed away. A few comforting words might not do much. I've got an idea now, and I hope you guys can give it some thought, to see if it's feasible?"
Tanisha said, "Spill it."
Clair, "I want to take Nelly back. Have her live with me, in my city, and I will take care of her from now on."
Upon hearing that Clair wanted to take up the responsibility of a mother, Tanisha was naturally happy, but she couldn't make the decision, "Nelly's an adult now, so it's up to her how she feels about this. We can't make the decision for her."
Clair, "Of course I know Nelly's wishes are the most important. I just want you guys to help persuade Nelly. You know, I left Rosenberg when Nelly was just a few months old, and she might hold a grudge against me. She might not be willing to come back to me."
Tanisha was a soft-hearted person, seeing Clair looking so pitiful, she felt sympathy for Clair, "Nelly mentioned you last night. Although she didn't say she missed you, I'm sure she did, but..."
Clair, "What?"
Tanisha continued, "You want to take Nelly back, does your current family agree? Nelly has her own family now. As far as we know, her husband's family treats her very well."
Clair, "My family agrees. The key is Nelly's wishes..."
