Lost in Mr. Preston's Temptation novel Chapter 30

Grandma Preston, standing on the side, stared at Clara from the corner of her eyes. Her eyes revealed a hint of admiration.

She had recognized Clara when she had come over.

That day Josh had come back to report to her, bringing Clara’s information and recent news about her with him.

Although she was anxious for Ethan to get married, the Prestons were still a big wealthy family. Clara Rowan had no family background and a bad reputation, so naturally she was against it.

She was just planning on calling Ethan to have him introduce his wife, so that she could let Clara know her objection and have her back out.

But today, she had come to help Ethan pick out clothes and had happened to meet Clara. Her way of doing things made her change her opinion.

It seemed like Ethan hadn’t played any tricks this time and even found a good granddaughter-in-law for her....

While Clara was arguing with the salesclerk, Baxter came over holding something.

He recognized Grandma Preston as soon as he saw her and was so scared that he almost forgot to breathe. “Grandma Preston......”

The old lady looked at him, then shook her head, as if to signal to him not to say anything.

Baxter had no choice but to swallow his remaining words.

But Clara had already heard Baxter speak, and thought he was calling her: “Baxter, what’s wrong?”

“I wanted to say that Mrs. Preston is so powerful!” Baxter said cleverly, “It’s one thing for these salesclerks to bully the young but bullying the old is unacceptable. They should be taught a lesson!”

Clara laughed and held the elderly lady’s arm. “Grandma, let’s go. There are several custom suit shops on this floor. I’ll go with you to look at them. Let’s not spend any more time in here.”

“Will it trouble you?” The old lady asked with a smile, looking amiable.

For Clara, seeing her was like seeing her dead grandmother. Her eyes were a little sad, and her voice was soft as she said, “No, I came out today to walk around and see what there is.”

The old lady nodded. “Okay.”

Seeing Grandma Preston leaving the men’s clothing store with Clara, Baxter immediately followed while at the same time frantically typing a message to Ethan.

At the same time, at the EMC Group, Ethan was holding a meeting with the high-level executives for the first time since returning from abroad.

The spacious conference room was full of more than forty high-level executives. Executives were reporting on their work, while Ethan in the main seat was looking at documents, the atmosphere was serious.

The phone on the table suddenly vibrated twice.

Baxter had sent a message “We have a problem, Ethan! When I was accompanying your wife shopping, we happened to meet your grandmother!”

Ethan frowned as he read the WhatsApp message.

On the day that he had gone with Clara to get their marriage certificate, his family had called and said that his grandmother had fainted when eating, so he had left Clara and gone back immediately.

His grandmother had been lying on the bed with a pale and sickly face. She had looked like she wouldn’t be able to get out of bed for months.

She had spoken to him like she was saying her last words, “Ethan, grandma is not in good health. If I don’t see you get married and have children, grandma won’t be able to die in peace.”

It hadn’t been that long, how come she was already seemingly full of vigor shopping?

Thinking of the news from before, Ethan’s expression sank, and he replied, “Find a way to separate them, I will have Josh pick up my grandma.”

There were some things he guessed that if his grandmother knew would cause her to dislike Clara.

But it was still useful for him to keep Clara by his side...

Just as Ethan was about to contact Josh, Baxter sent another message, “Wow, your grandma is caressing your wife’s hand. It seems like she likes your wife a lot.”

Ethan “...”

In the mall, Clara walked with Grandma Preston and chatted as they walked.
