Lost in Mr. Preston's Temptation novel Chapter 4

“Grandma!” Clara Rowan screamed and at once ran out to call the doctor.

She saw the doctor send her grandma to the emergency room, and tears came out of her eyes. She started pacing back and forth in the corridor.

If something happened to grandma, she wouldn’t forgive herself!

Very quickly her grandma was pushed out of the emergency room, her face covered by a breathing mask.

The doctor told her, “The patient’s heartbeat has stabilized, but she needs to be treated with drugs. The drugs to be used for her are special and exceedingly rare. You have to pay first before we can use them. “

“Okay, thank you.” Seeing that her grandma was okay, Clara breathed a sigh of relief and hurried downstairs to settle the bill.

But when she swiped her card, she found that all her cards had been frozen.

Clara called Ruby Leke and, full of anxiety, said: “Ruby, can you help me ask Steve why my cards have been frozen. My grandmother needs money......”

“Clara, have you forgotten?” Ruby Leke cut her off coldly, “You left with nothing.”

Without waiting for her to respond, she hung up the phone.

Clara choked up, thinking of grandmother and the money she needed to buy the medicine. Without hesitation, she took a taxi to ARCTIC.

She wanted to find Steve and ask why he wanted to seize ARCTIC from her.

Why was he so ruthless? And why, just because of a single mistake, did he divorce her without leaving her a single penny?

It was raining heavily when the taxi arrived at ARCTIC.

Clara rushed into the rain and towards the building. She wanted to go in, but the security guard at the door pushed her to the ground.

“Please, let me in. I want to see Steve Lane......” She got up and clutched the security guard’s arm. The rain made her face pale. “I need money to buy medicine, otherwise my grandmother will die.......”

The security guard once again pushed Clara away and held a sign in front of her. “Ms. Rowan, please open your eyes and look at the sign!”

She wiped away the rain on her face.

She saw a few words written on the sign: Clara Rowan and dogs are not allowed in!

“Steve Lane, how have I wronged you?” Clara’s tears mixed with the rain.

When she was three years old, his father had brought back a boy. “Clara, his parents have died unexpectedly. From now on, he will live in our house. He’s your brother.”
