Parker scratched his head in frustration. Ever since Ludwik fell head over heels in love, he had become more of a handful than ever.
He tried to reason with him, "Anyway, you should come back soon. Your dad's sick, laid up in the hospital!
And with the chip development success, there's so much data... Who knows how many people are eyeing it greedily right now?"
Ludwik paused, then responded in a low tone, "Parker, you're the one I trust the most. Keep guarding the lab personally, don't let even a fly in!
I'm worried about your safety too, don't leave the lab for any reason."
In Ludwik's mind, sharp as a knife, the person to be most wary of at this time was Jarvis.
But he had been exiled, stripped of his connections and resources. He couldn't touch Parker, and Parker wouldn't fall for his tricks.
Parker said, "Sure, I won't leave the lab. Right now, your uncle's in charge, and he's still loyal to you."
"Let's hang up."
Ludwik casually ended the call, his tall frame standing on the deck, lighting a cigarette.
He hadn't made any effort to keep his call with Whitney a secret.
Thus, Whitney, in the cabin, heard everything he said, loud and clear.
Her heart skipped a beat.
She hadn't expected the latest chip to be developed so smoothly.
She wondered how the market value of The Lippert Group would double once it hit the market, making Ludwik unbeatable not just in Harmonia Country but globally.
She was well aware of Skyfaith's chip prowess, with the previous success of the Sharp-F Chip marking a victory for him.
Would he succeed again this time?
Whitney felt despair.
Was she really unable to escape this man, to be under his shadow and control for the rest of her life?
"Honey, what are you thinking about?" Ludwik finished his cigarette and came down.
His calm, composed demeanor was like that of a conqueror, his gaze knowing her thoughts all too well.
He embraced her, looking into her startled and trembling eyes, "You're about to become the wife of the richest man in the world, aren't you happy?"
Whitney felt a lump in her throat.
He gently turned her around, his hand greedily moving towards her belly, his voice pleasing to the ear, "As long as you're pregnant, our third child will be born into this entire world."
Whitney looked at his veiny arm, feeling powerless, "You think wealth can tempt me, you think I care about these things?"
"You don't," Ludwik replied, his gaze lowering into her neck, his tone growing colder, "But I also want to tell you, with the chip development success, stop dreaming about going back to Bryce's side. It's even more impossible. In my eyes, he's like an ant I can crush anytime!"
He forcefully brought her face to his, capturing her lips in a lingering kiss.
Whitney closed her eyes, too tired to struggle.
Her heart felt cold, thinking to herself that perhaps it was time to accept her fate.
With her limited capabilities, she couldn't beat him, and neither could Bryce.
But her heart was still not willing to give in.
Even if this was to become his world, she still yearned for freedom, for her sons!
