Dylan sound like a stand-up guy with a strong moral compass. However, Kieran and Julie sneered at him, then they sauntered down the stairs together, completely ignoring him in the study.
Learning that Camilla was seeing someone had breathed new life into Dylan. Even reduced to the status of invisible man, he descended the stairs with a grin plastered across his face.
At that moment, down in the living room, Amanda was asking about who Camilla's mysterious boyfriend might be. Camilla, phone in hand, beckoned Amanda closer, and they both leaned in over the glowing screen.
“He’s quite the looker,” Amanda said with a hint of concern, “but I wonder about his temperament.”
With a chuckle, Camilla responded, “Thank you for caring, Grandma. Simonson has always been sweet-tempered.”
“Hey, Kieran, come here,” Amanda called out. “You’ve got a good eye for people. Tell me what you think of this young man. Is he a match for our Camilla?”
Kieran took the smartphone, and Julie, driven by curiosity, peeked over his shoulder.
The screen showed Camilla snuggled up against a dashing young man, his hair a rich chestnut swept back in a stylish wave. His navy blue tie was the perfect complement to his crisp white shirt and a khaki plaid blazer. Their cozy pose was the picture of bliss.
Julie couldn't help but praise, “They look like a perfect match.”
Dylan, ever the one for a bit of gossip, edged closer upon hearing Julie's comment, his gaze fixating on the screen. He studied the couple with a serious eye and said, “Yep, definitely not photoshopped.”
Camilla was speechless at his comment.
“But he does look familiar... Have I seen him somewhere before?” Dylan mused, snatching the phone for a closer inspection. He was haunted by the feeling that he had seen Simonson somewhere, but he just couldn’t place the face.
“Really? Have you met before? Maybe he just has one of those faces. Or perhaps Dr. Pierson has been to Britain?” Camilla suggested.
“He’s British?” Dylan inquired.
Camilla nodded, “Simonson grew up in Britain. His parents still live there.”
Unable to recall, Dylan eventually gave up, “Must be my mistake then!”
He handed the phone back to Camilla. As long as Amanda wasn’t trying to set Camilla up with him, it wasn’t his business. After finishing the meal, he made his exit.
Once home, Dylan pushed the thought of Camilla’s boyfriend out of his mind.
Camilla's surprise announcement of a boyfriend caught everyone off-guard, especially Amanda, who had been keen on playing matchmaker. But you can't just break up a happy couple, and in the end, it was probably for the best.
Since moving into Noblewood Retreat, Camilla's injury had brought her closer to Julie, who’d been visiting Feliz Gastro House less frequently. It became apparent over time that Camilla, perhaps due to caring for Phoebe from a young age, had a nurturing nature well beyond her years. She was gentle and kind, never once losing her temper during her stay with the Hernandez family.
Whether with the hosts or the staff, Camilla treated everyone with the same gentle kindness, leaving a lasting positive impression and without a hint of arrogance.
But for Daphne, who was often bored during her pregnancy, visited often. Despite Camilla’s approachable and endearing nature, Daphne couldn’t help but clash with her. By her own admission, she simply didn’t gel with the delicate and pretty young things. Perhaps it was envy, for Daphne was never as sweet-natured.
Julie noticed Phoebe was thriving, spending her days attending classes with Ivan. The bodyguards reported that at school, MoMo and Ivan were more than capable of looking out for Phoebe, rendering the guards almost unnecessary.
Julie found comfort in this.
With Camilla healed and Ivan’s school term about to begin, Julie pondered whether to enroll Phoebe in the same class as Ivan. That's when Camilla dropped a bombshell: she wanted to take Phoebe back to Switzerland.
