"Good girl! You're so thoughtful!" Chu Feng had never felt so gratified. He lifted Duo Duo in his arms.
"Don't give me that!" Yun Muqing's expression remained business-like. "Why didn't you go to dance class today?"
Ahh! She remembered!
Duo Duo buried her face in Chu Feng's chest like a frightened rabbit. She sneaked a glance at her mother and tried to look pitiful.
Chu Feng's heart melted when he saw that. "Muqing, actually, Duo Duo skipped class because…"
"It's all Daddy's fault!" Duo Duo blinked her puppy eyes while hugging Chu Feng's neck. "I was all prepared to go to class, but Daddy insists that I stay home and rest for a day. Won't you forgive Daddy this time? He won't do it again."
Chu Feng was speechless.
Did my dear daughter just throw me under the bus? She didn't even hesitate to do it, too!
"Hahahaha!" Yun Muyu laughed at Chu Feng's misfortune. She glanced at him smugly as though saying, "It's your turn now!"
Yun Muqing's expression remained stern. "Who taught you how to lie? Even if you want to lie, can't you find a more convincing excuse? No one will believe you! Get down now and stand straight."
"Oh," Duo Duo mumbled and jumped down from Chu Feng's arms. She stood with her head lowered and twiddled her thumbs.
Yun Muqing glared at Chu Feng before admonishing her daughter. "Duo Duo, I wish you'd stop making me worry about you. You're not three years old anymore…"
"Mm, I'm already four years old. I'm an adult now," Duo Duo said.
"Pfft!" Yun Muyu could not hold it back any longer. She spat out the tea in her mouth.
