Mia didn’t want to waste time beating around the bush. Not even for a second. 

Yet, Felix gave her a loving look. “Mia, you’re avoiding my question.” 

Disgusted, she retorted, “I swore that if I have feelings for you, I’ll be struck by lightning. Do you 

understand me?” 

Her blatant vow left him completely stunned. 

Never had he imagined being looked down upon like this. 

In his mind, a divorced woman like Mia shouldn’t be picky when faced with a career man like him. 

Still, he regained his composure very quickly. “Mia, you don’t have to be so harsh. I won’t give the voice recording to the police on one condition–be my girlfriend. Once we become a family, your brothers are my brothers. I won’t hold him accountable for it.”
