Why did Rowena suddenly say her clothes were dirty? She most likely retreated to the bathroom downstairs... and didn't have the time.
"Mr. Lenoir?" Frances spoke tentatively when she heard silence on the other end.
Damien coughed lightly and instinctively understood the situation. "Just provide them with a clean set of servant's attire."
"But..."
"If they continue causing a scene, inform them you've consulted Cherise. Tell them Cherise wanted to personally bring them a new outfit, but you declined because you didn't want them to be embarrassed. If they insist on Cherise's help, you can tell Cherise to go down."
On the other end, Frances was perplexed but nodded earnestly. "Alright, Mr. Lenoir. I'll do as you say."
When the call ended, Cherise and Damien looked at each other. After a moment, they both abruptly burst into laughter simultaneously.
"Are you happy now?" The man reached out and pulled Cherise into his embrace. "You're a scoundrel."
"Am I?" Cherise pouted. She lay in his arms and said coyly, "I'm much better compared to your savior, who pretended to be unconscious after consuming a laxative."
Damien nodded, gently kissing her cheek. "Indeed." The man couldn't help but sigh. "Rowena wasn't always like this. She used to reprimand Ursula sternly whenever her sister caused trouble. I had complete faith in her."
"I must bear responsibility for her sudden transformation. I treated her too nicely, and she's forgotten her place."
