Chapter 365 Nature of Love
Faye was trembling all over when Colin carried her downstairs.
Her stomach was empty due to retching and she felt torn with spasms.
Jake followed behind them and opened the car door for them. Watching Colin gingerly put Faye into the passenger seat, Jake asked with a frown, "Are you sure you're all right?"
Faye slightly pressed her lips and forced a smile with difficulty. "I'm fine."
Colin put his hand on the back of her neck to massage it and then bowed to kiss her forehead. He asked in a soft voice, "Shall I take you back?"
Faye clenched her hands and replied, "Okay."
Watching their interaction, Jake realized that he didn't need to stay. He reached out and patted Colin's back.
Colin got his implication. He closed the door to the passenger seat and then turned around.
Jake glanced into the car at Faye and said in a voice that could only be heard by himself and Colin, "Pay more attention to her mood after going back. Don't let her go to the company today."
Colin asked gloomily, "Is there any other treatment for her illness?"
Jake replied honestly, "None."
Colin raised another question, "How long will this treatment take?"
Jake answered, "Until she can completely accept her past."
He paused and then added, "Mr. Farrell, do you feel sorry for her when seeing her current looks?"
Colin tightened her jaw, pondering what Jake was implicating.
Jake forced a smile and continued, "But you didn't see how miserable she looked when she went to the scene of that car accident."
Colin remained silent.
Jake continued, "Otherwise, you'll get crazy."
Jake was smiling when he said those words, but his eyes were filled with sadness.
Colin was still silent. Jake smiled and said, "Be good to her."
Then he turned around and left.
Colin suddenly called out to him, "Dr. Thomas."
Jake turned around confusedly and asked, "What's the matter?"
Colin's eyes looked unfathomable. He asked, "Did she do those things for me?"
Jake didn't answer this question. He chuckled and asked, "What do you think?"
Colin's breath quickened. He didn't reply.
Jake chuckled when he found Colin was stiff. He asked, "What's wrong with you? Are you guilty?"
Colin remained silent.
Jake took off his wire-rimmed glasses, pinched his glabellar, and said in a deep voice, "You don't have to feel guilty. If you love a person, you'll do anything for her. This is the nature of love."
Colin asked in a lowered voice, "Can we give up the treatment?"
Jake replied honestly, "Of course. Faye is very self-controlled. There won't be any problem as long as she doesn't receive fierce stimulation. But..."
Jake stammered and gazed at Colin meaningfully.
