Chapter 382 You Are Not Yourself
Abbot thought for a while and typed a few words but soon deleted them.
Then he typed a few words again but deleted them again.
He typed words and deleted them again and again. At last, he replied to Matthew with an emoticon. A simple emoticon with two words, "screw you".
He put his cellphone into his pocket and walked to the car with its bright light on.
In the car, Rebecca was still dizzy, struggling between the triple wage and the driving fee of 800 dollars when there was a knock on the window.
Rebecca turned her head and rolled down the window. "Mr. Carter?"
Abbot pretended to be calm and took a look at his watch. "My assistant is arriving soon. When will your driver be here?"
Rebecca stuck her head out of the window and said, squinting her eyes, "Mr. Carter, have you ever heard of a driving fee of 800 dollars?"
"Yes. That's a normal price nowadays."
Rebecca blinked in amazement. "Re...Really? But I spent 40 dollars last time."
"Probably they were having a promotion," Abbot said.
"M...Maybe they were." Rebecca couldn't argue under the influence of alcohol. Normally, she wouldn't be fooled that easily.
Abbot didn't continue the topic. "Do you need me to drive you home?"
Rebecca put her hand on the window with her chin on her forearm. "How much is it?"
Abbot's eyes fell on Rebecca's rosy lips, and his heart beat fast. He looked away quickly. "It's free."
On hearing that, Rebecca shook her head. "Forget it."
Abbot was confused.
Rebecca burped and mumbled, "I'm not very good with you. I don't want to owe you. As the saying goes, a gentleman makes money in a right way."
With that, she took her cellphone and waved it at Abbot. "How much is it? I'll transfer the money to you."
Abbot thought for a while and said, "40 dollars."
Rebecca looked up at him. "Come on. We're acquaintances. Can you give me a discount?"
Abbot was amused. "Didn't you say you're not good with me?
"But at least we're not strangers," Rebecca said seriously.
"35 dollars," Abbot said.
"Can you give me a daytime price?"
"How much is the daytime price?" Abbot asked, raising an eyebrow.
Rebecca licked her lip and answered, "10 dollars an hour. One hour is enough time to go to my house from here. For the sake of Faye and Colin, I will offer you 20 dollars an hour. What do you say?"
Abbot was speechless.
