Chapter 485 Having Much Ado
After finishing speaking, Maxwell stared at Faye's face with a playful look.
He had thought she would be surprised, but she remained calm.
Staring at her for a while, he suddenly realized something, so he raised his eyebrows and chuckled, "You've long known it?"
Faye asked, "Are you done speaking?"
Maxwell kept staring at her with a sneer, become more interested, and murmured, "Interesting."
Then, he put the string of prayer beads on his wrist and said, "I'm very curious how strong your willpower is."
Faye replied, "Curiosity kills the cat."
Maxwell said, "You must have suffered a lot after being born into such a gloomy family."
Faye looked at him with a calm expression. Maxwell was too aggressive and purposeful. Getting along with him always made her feel oppressed.
Looking at the calculating look in his eyes, Faye narrowed her eyes but kept silent.
After he finished speaking, the living room fell silent.
After a long while, Maxwell stood up, walked up to her, and said with a low laugh, "Faye, you are too hostile to me. I told you at the very beginning that I don't want to hurt you. If I had not kindly told my subordinates to let you go, you would have been killed."
Faye looked up at him and said, "Maxwell, are you trying to make me feel I owe you a favor? Why?"
Maxwell answered, "Because I want to cooperate with you."
Then, he reached for her hand. When his fingertips were about to touch her hand, the indifferent look in her eyes suddenly became sharp.
Maxwell froze for a second, slowly retracted his hand, and said with a smirk, "If you agree to make a deal with me, I'll tell you who the man in the photo is. Is it OK?"
Faye looked at him coldly, neither agreeing nor refusing.
Maxwell thought there was hope, so he continued, "Don't worry. I will not let you violate your principles. I..."
When he was speaking, a bodyguard suddenly rushed in. So, Maxwell paused and glared at him.
The bodyguard took a few steps to his side and whispered, "Mr. Camden, there are a group of people outside."
Hearing this, Maxwell frowned, "Who?"
The bodyguard replied, "The leader is Ethan."
Maxwell suddenly showed a sullen face and turned to look at the bodyguards who had brought Faye here.
The bodyguards also realized something was wrong, so they murmured nervously, "Mr. Camden."
Maxwell looked away from them, glanced at Faye, and said, "You have been stalling for time since entering the door?"
Faye asked, "Can I leave now?"
Maxwell asked, "Do you think Ethan can take you away?"
