Chapter 561 Grievance
Aniston nodded when she heard Faye's words.
Several minutes later, Faye watched Aniston and William off. Then she picked up her phone from the desk and texted Colin.
[Faye] We need Robert to clarify Aniston's rumor.
Colin replied to her message immediately.
[Colin] Okay. I will ask the finance staff to deduct Robert's year-end bonus.
[Faye]?
[Colin] Just regard it as his appreciation of treating us to a meal.
[Faye]...
[Colin] Honey, I miss you.
Colin had shifted the topic so abruptly that Faye was dumbfounded for a while. After a long while, she finally came to her sense and replied to the message.
[Faye] Me too.
On the other side...
Aniston and William all looked serious when they walked out of Faye's office.
William immediately guessed what she was thinking. He asked, "Do you feel it awkward to trouble Robert?"
As only the two were in the elevator, Aniston replied honestly with a nod, "It's really awkward?"
William said, "It's normal for friends to help each other. Moreover, you were neighbors in childhood."
Aniston pressed her lips and leaned against the elevator silently.
William asked said in a lower voice, "You're so stubborn. There's no outsider here. It's normal for stars to make use of their fans to suppress their rivals, but you..."
Aniston stood straight and interrupted William, "I need to bear legal responsibilities if it attracted great attention. I earn money and enjoy it by myself. Why should I let my fans bear the legal responsibilities together with me?"
William commented, "What a stubborn girl!"
Aniston said, "We should have some empathy. Let alone adults who could be fully responsible for themselves, we should consider students who can't make a distinction between right and wrong. If I were their parent, think about it, if my child is involved in a lawsuit because of his or her idol, what will I think of it?"
William was choked.
Aniston continued with a smile, "William, I know you're not that kind of person. I just want to tell you that if I have a child in the future and he or she has an idol, I hope what that idol brings to my child is all positive and I hope he or she can guide my child to be a better person. I don't want that idol to make use of my child's immaturity and cognitive bias to do some risky things."
William said, "Maybe I can treat you and Faye to a meal together later. You two will be good friends."
Aniston's smile widened. She said, "I like Ms. Nash very much."
