Chapter 689 Revealing the Secret
Brandon said the words "want to kill me" very calmly.
After saying this, he drank most of the tea in his cup in one gulp.
Maxwell's mother put down the teapot in her hand expressionlessly, and asked in a light voice, "Since you have known everything, why did you still come?"
Brandon inhaled, "What should be returned will eventually be returned."
After saying that, Brandon took the initiative to reach for the teapot.
Brandon intended to refill his own tea, but he was absent-minded and held Maxwell's mother's hand.
Both of them halted, then Brandon loosened his hand quickly, "Sorry."
Maxwell's mother pursed her lips. Her hand which had been held just now heated. She retracted and clenched her hand and did not reply for a long time.
Brandon drank the pot of tea a full hour.
When the teapot was almost empty, Brandon said in a hoarse voice, "Today I come here and just want to apologize to you. I do not expect your forgiveness. I just want to...say sorry to you again for the last time."
Maxwell's mother said, "You've apologized before."
Brandon said in a deep voice, "Back then I was blinded by hatred. I relied on my power and seized you by force. I know you have been hating me all these years. I..."
Maxwell's mother said, "That's enough!"
Brandon didn‘t say a word.
As Maxwell's mother's words were finished, the atmosphere in the room became frozen and depressing.
Both of them were over fifty years of age. They have seen the various of life and the vicissitudes of the world.
Some words were thorns if one didn’t speak out. When being spoken out, they became scars.
After the atmosphere stagnated for about half a minute, Maxwell's mother clenched her hand and took the initiative to talk, "I can understand you taking action against your elder brother, but why were you targeting Faye and Colin?"
Brandon was silent.
Maxwell's mother inhaled and said, "You can fool others, but not me. There was love between you and Daisy. In no way would you really want to kill Faye."
