Chapter 718 Be in Good Shape
When smart people talked with smart people, there was no need to put all the cards on the table.
After speaking, William was about to pat Aniston on the shoulder to comfort her when William heard a knock on the lounge door.
William withdrew his hand and asked, "Who's that?"
Robert's deep voice came from outside the door, "It's me, Robert."
Knowing it was Robert, William glanced at Aniston, stood up, and then walked towards the door.
William opened the door and greeted with a smile, "Robert."
Robert nodded slightly at William as a greeting and asked, "William, where is she?"
It was self-evident who she was referring to.
William took half a step forward and said in a low voice, "She's sitting inside."
Robert said, "I'll go in to meet her."
At a time like this, William was very happy that Robert could meet Aniston. Then William made excuses to make room for the two. "Okay, you can chat for a while. I'll have a smoke and get some air."
Robert thanked William.
William said, "Well, we are all good friends. Don't stand on ceremony."
William thought, "I should be the one to thank you."
Then William walked away and turned his head to wink at Aniston before leaving.
Seeing this, Aniston didn't say a word but just gripped the coffee cup tighter.
After William left, Robert was about to enter the room. Aniston remained calm, but her ears were red.
Robert strode into the room and closed the door. He sat on the chair that William had just sat in. Then Robert loosened the tie while asking, "If I don't take the initiative to come over, are you going to avoid it all the time?"
Aniston's lowered eyelashes trembled slightly. Aniston replied, "It will have no bad effect on you."
Robert said, "You know that's not what I'm talking about."
Aniston was speechless.
