Natalie was momentarily stunned by Skylar's words, unsure of how to respond. "I… I don't care about the three years of companionship. To me, those years have been particularly tough for you."
Skylar smiled softly. "Those three years have been difficult for both of us. I don't want him to regret any decision he makes."
"Sometimes, can't you just think about yourself instead of always worrying about others?" Natalie felt a pang of sympathy for Skylar.
Skylar replied, "Got it. How have you and Mr. Powell been lately?"
At the mention of Austin, Natalie's cheeks flushed slightly. "We're doing pretty well. Mr. Powell has been a great boyfriend."
"Congratulations, Nath! You've found love," Skylar said sincerely. Austin had liked her for years, and after coming back, he pursued her wholeheartedly.
Such sincerity was worth committing to.
"Even if Mr. Powell and I don't have a future, I wouldn't regret this relationship," Natalie declared. From the moment she started dating Austin, she knew their relationship might end due to parental disapproval.
But having loved and experienced this relationship, she would never regret it. Skylar sensed the courage in Natalie's voice. "You need to have faith in Mr. Powell."
"Absolutely!" Natalie had no doubts about Austin's feelings for her. She poured all her emotions into him.
If she had accepted this love, she would have loved him fiercely and wholeheartedly.
"Why are we suddenly talking about my relationship with Mr. Powell again? I think you should crash their marriage certificate signing tomorrow and let everyone know that Ned is Joe! He is your legitimate husband. If Joe marries Rosa, it would be bigamy," Natalie said, her tone fiery.
Skylar laughed in response. "Okay, okay. I'll seriously consider it."
