Within a few minutes, Edgar returned.
Skylar looked at him and asked, "What does Ernest want now?"
"He said he wants to invite Mrs. Martin to Avalon Residence. He claims that there seem to be some cursed items causing unrest for their family recently," Edgar replied.
Gloria let out a cold snort upon hearing this. "Of course, he only shows up when there's trouble. Who does he think he is? Why should Skye go just because he invites her? Ridiculous!"
Edgar nodded in agreement. "Exactly. His attitude was so arrogant. It was as if he was doing Mrs. Martin a huge favor by coming to invite her personally. He really overestimates himself!
"I immediately refused him. Mrs. Martin is still in her recovery and shouldn't leave the house unnecessarily. It's not worth risking her health for their family's problems."
"Good, that's settled," Gloria approved.
Skylar didn't say much, but her thoughts drifted to what Kevin had mentioned during his recent visit to the mansion.
He had said that there were indeed items in Avalon Residence that he had used to assist Joe. Kevin explained that Joe's return was partly thanks to those items. But Skylar suspected the car accident Joe experienced in Murida might also have been related.
She decided she would visit Avalon Residence eventually, but now wasn't the right time.
Her priority was staying by Gloria's side.
As Edgar reached the door, Skylar called out, "Edgar, let him know I'll visit in two weeks."
"Understood."
After Edgar left, Gloria's face remained sour. "That man gets more annoying with age."
Skylar chuckled. "But his money isn't annoying. I'll go and make a fortune off him."
