Joe said without hesitation, "I'll go with you."
When it was time to leave work, Joe arrived to pick Skylar up. Together, they headed straight to Janine's house.
The group arrived almost at the same time. They all had keys to the house, but because of the relationship between Janine and Ted, they rarely used them anymore and preferred to ring the doorbell instead.
Ted didn't live there, but due to his close relationship with Janine, he visited frequently, and they didn't want to disturb the two of them. Janine quickly came to the door and opened it.
Seeing all her children gathered together, her expression softened slightly. "Come in. I was just washing some fruit."
Once inside, Harvey asked curiously, "Mom, why did you call all of us here?"
Even Charles had shown up. His flight had landed just two hours ago, and he hadn't even rested before making his way here. His face was etched with exhaustion.
Steven and Skylar exchanged a glance, both quietly suspecting what this was about. They figured Janine had either learned that Finn was alive or, more likely, that he had already come to her.
After they all sat down, Janine brought over a plate of fruit and sighed softly as she looked at them. "You already know your father is alive, don't you? Has he reached out to you?"
"What? He has the nerve to come looking for you?" Harvey shot up from his seat.
Charles, never one to hold back his temper, slammed his hand on the armrest. "First, he comes running to each of us, trying to play nice and get us on his side. When that doesn't work, he dares to show up here and bother you? Who gave him the right? What exactly does he think he's going to achieve?"
Compared to Harvey's and Charles' fiery reactions, Steven remained composed, though his expression was grave. His voice was calm but firm. "Mom, what did he say to you?"
