And these guests were also behaving very peculiarly.
They didn't chat, only sitting in their seats, their backs completely straight.
Yesseca couldn't help feeling wary.
Nothing in this wedding seemed right.
And just then, the emcee stepped onto the stage.
Holding the microphone, he announced, "Ladies and gentlemen, we're gathered here today to witness the marriage of Tremaine Quartley and Qiana Lanes. Representing the newlyweds, I welcome you all."
With a buzz, Yesseca's mind exploded.
Tremaine and Qiana's wedding!
Tremaine and Qiana's wedding!
Tremaine and Qiana's wedding!
The words rang in her head like a curse, making her blood freeze.
It was coming to her now.
She had long known Tremaine and Qiana were getting married.
However, never had she expected Matthew to bring her to their wedding!
The strange wedding was actually Tremaine and Qiana's!
Yesseca turned her head over to Matthew like a marionette.
She wanted answers from him.
Why did he bring her to their wedding?
Matthew whispered, "Yesseca, when things begin, they should end. Since you used to date Tremaine, why not mark the end of your relationship with this witness."
Matthew's gaze turned profound after a pause. "If you've really left him in the past, then you'd be indifferent to this wedding."
Yesseca jolted.
That was right.
Indifferent.
Tremaine was her past, and she should be indifferent to this wedding!
But why wasn't she indifferent? Why did it feel as though her heart was sliced open, and her blood had frozen?
Yesseca breathed heavily.
She kept telling herself to be calm!
Tremaine was already her past, and she could be indifferent to this wedding!
Showing up in her white bridal gown, Qiana walked down the aisle and stood next to the emcee, all ladylike.
Tremaine appeared next.
Dressed in a black tailcoat, he was so handsome that even his glamorous bride paled in comparison.
Yesseca's eyes were fixed on Tremaine.
She had repeatedly told herself not to look, but she couldn't help trailing her gaze at him as he walked down the aisle for some reason.
Usually, the emcee would ask the bride and groom to take their vows and to exchange their rings.
But this was an unusual wedding.
After Tremaine and Qiana went on stage, the emcee didn't ask them to say their vows but addressed the audience instead, "With this wedding, I would like to invite someone up to give their blessing to the newlyweds."
There was a burst of applause.
Everyone agreed.
A spotlight shot toward the audience and soon landed on Yesseca.
Yesseca was stunned.
The emcee smiled and said, "Please, come on stage and say your blessings to the groom and bride."
On the stage, astonishment flashed across Qiana's gaze.
Little had she ever expected Yesseca to show up at her wedding and even be invited on stage to give her blessings to Tremaine and her.
This must have been arranged!
The notion immediately came to Qiana.
Otherwise, it would be too much of a coincidence for Yesseca to be chosen.
Plus, it was never tradition for family and friends to give their blessings to the newlyweds before they had even said their vows and exchanged their rings.
