Yesseca didn't say anything, but based on how she looked, Preslie got her answer.
Preslie sighed. "You know Yesseca, I've always known that Ruth still has feelings for Tremaine's brother."
Yesseca kept quiet.
Preslie thought about it and said," Have you considered the possibility that maybe Ruth has plans of her own? If she manages to expose Yuliana, she stands a chance to marry Tremaine's brother. She is the mother of his son after all."
That was possible. She would never forgive her if it were true.
Preslie had spent a lot of time with Ruth and got to know her pretty well.
But Yesseca had spent much more time with Ruth compared to Preslie.
She also knew Ruth better than Preslie did.
She shot down Preslie's theory.
She said, "Ruth wouldn't do that. She's not the kind of person to do such things. She just wants to make things right for Zorion."
Having said that, Yesseca explained, "Preslie, you should understand that even though Ruth is much more confident now, she still has an inferiority complex. She takes the division of classes very seriously. Deep inside she probably feels unworthy of Zorion's love. That's how I know that she would never think of taking Yuliana down only to claim power for herself."
Yesseca knew that even though Ruth loved Zorion, she only did so quietly in her heart.
All Ruth ever hoped for was for Zorion to be happy.
Preslie realized that she had misjudged Ruth.
She then said, "That's rubbish, thinking she's not worthy of his love! I heard that Tremaine's brother suffers from a mental illness. Ruth is such a kind and caring woman! She's worthy of anyone's love!
Yesseca laughed bitterly.
She had planned to talk to Preslie about exposing Yuliana, but ended up on a very different tangent.
Yesseca quickly changed the subject, "Anyway, you ought to speak to Mr. Hawls about this first. See if he can look into what Yuliana's up to. Once we have some substantial evidence, then I'll bring this up to Tremaine."
