Sheldon was a little sober.
He looked at Preslie, only to see that her face was red.
His heart skipped a beat.
He wondered if she was mad.
Sheldon thought that there was a high possibility that she was.
After all, Preslie was a woman, and getting ridiculed in public would make her mad.
He immediately apologized. "Sorry, it's all my fault for choosing such a restaurant."
"I'm fine." A hint of disappointment flashed across her eyes.
But it soon disappeared.
She thought, "Maybe he really doesn't like me."
Even if he only liked her a little, he would have confessed to her since many were rooting for him.
Soon, she was rendered speechless by her own thought.
What was wrong with her?
Didn't she already know that he had no thoughts about her?
Why did such thoughts come back when she was back in Nashaland?
Preslie coughed and decided to get to the point. After all, she had delayed it long enough.
She told him the story she made up in preparation for this, "My neighbor got pregnant."
Sheldon was speechless.
He was a little confused.
She was changing topics too fast.
After looking at her for a while, he asked, "And?"
She looked serious. "The child is not her husband's."
He didn't know what to say.
Preslie continued, "The problem is the husband thinks the child is his, and the family doesn't know either. In fact, my neighbor is pregnant with another man's child."
Sheldon was more and more confused.
He thought for a moment and said, "Her husband and family don't know, so how would you know?"
