Chapter 101 Be Tough
Evie finished venting her anger.
She sat down dejectedly and looked at Athena tearfully. “Athena, how about you ignore everything and just run away? I don’t believe that Byron dares to hurt innocent people! Doesn’t Miss Ross restrain him?”
Athena was helpless.
“He actually does.”
Athena knew Byron very well. He was a man of his word. If he weren’t, Athena wouldn’t be coerced. Would she?
“I can’t risk your or other people’s lives that I am concerned about.” Athena continued.
She was not deeply involved with many people.
There were only a few people in her life.
Athena couldn’t let them be affected by her shitty life.
“But he is going to get married. How can you continue…” Evie was extremely anxious.
“So, I have to find a way to prevent Byron from retaliating against those people I care about and to escape smoothly,”
Athena said slowly and thoughtfully.
“What can I do?” Evie asked quickly.
Athena looked at her. “You? Your priority now is to stay away
from the idiot Baxter.”
“No problem!”
As for Baxter…
In the beginning, Athena could see George Klein in him. She had some crush on him, but not to the degree of liking.
Afterward, Baxter humiliated her because of Byron. That behavior killed Athena’s last feeling for him.
But now…
No matter what Baxter wanted…
He got Evie into the mess. Athena was totally done with him.
“Yesterday, you said you were going to move out… Did you mean going back to his place?” Evie asked.
“I will move back to my old apartment. He doesn’t live there.” Athena explained.
Her phone rang suddenly.
She took it out and checked on the caller ID. Her face darkened
slightly.
“Mrs. Lola Crawford?”
“Lola Crawford, Byron’s mother,” Athena said.
Evie was shocked when she heard the words.
Without responding to Evie’s reaction, Athena answered the call.
“Mrs. Lola Crawford.”
“Miss Newton, are you available?” Lola asked.
“Yes, I am. What can I do for you?”
“Madam Crawford is making a fuss and wants to see you,” Lola said coldly, “If you are available, just come over.”
For the Crawford family,
Athena didn’t care about any one of them.
Due to her status, none of the Crawford family was nice to her.
Alivia was an exception.
Athena only went to take care of her once, and the old lady missed her.
“Okay. I’ll be there shortly.”
Athena was about to hang up.
