Caspian looked at him, trying to figure out the sincerity behind Brian's words.
"In any case, since you interrupted me, you must convince Evie to cremate Jane as soon as possible," Brian said and left in a huff.
Caspian stood there for a while before taking out his phone, which was currently recording, from his suit pocket.
"Is Evie overthinking things?
Is Brian unrelated to Jane's death?
And was the death of Mom really just an accident?"
Caspian's mind was filled with questions.
At that moment, his phone rang.
It was Dahlia calling.
He stared at the phone for a moment, sighed, and answered the call.
The Hansen family was on the verge of collapse now.
Evie didn't want him anymore.
Dahlia was his only reliable presence.
He answered the call with exhaustion, "What's wrong?"
"Is the victim Ms. Hansen?" Dahlia asked.
Caspian replied, "Yes."
"Then Evie must be devastated!" Dahlia said in a low voice, "Luckily, her husband is by her side. Otherwise, how could she bear it?"
Caspian felt inexplicably uncomfortable and irritable.
"Are you still there?" Dahlia continued, "Although Evie sued my grandmother, she is still your sister. Comfort her properly, and let me know if there's anything I can do to help."
"I know," Caspian said impatiently, "We had planned to taste the wedding dishes together, but now you have to go alone."
"It's okay," Dahlia was very considerate. "We're about to be married, so we should understand and support each other."
"Dahlia..." Although Caspian didn't love Dahlia, she had been incredibly caring and attentive during this time, and he felt genuinely grateful. "Thank you."
"Why are you talking nonsense?" Dahlia smiled. "Alright, take a rest if you have time. I'm going to the next hotel with my mom to taste the dishes."
