Athena jolted awake from her nightmare.

"Mrs. Crawford, you're up," Dorian said, rising swiftly.

Athena stared at the ceiling as the villa collapsing replayed in her mind.

"Where's Byron?" she got up and asked Dorian urgently.

He lowered his eyes. "The police and our people are still scouring the waters..."

What he didn't add was the storm swell made launching boats impossible.

Athena paled.

She ripped out her IV and bolted up. "Get the car. I need to go there!"

"An assassin infiltrated Lakin. He nearly killed the children!" Dorian said gravely.

Athena whipped around. "What did you say?"

"Ottilie recognized him as one of the assassins you're pursuing. The kids are terrified. You and Mr. Crawford have been out of contact all day. And now this? Do you really intend to abandon them?" Dorian asked bluntly.

He paused before twisting the knife deeper.

"Frankly, they've lost their father. When will you stop? Until they're orphaned completely?"

Shortly after, the car screeched to a halt at the entrance of the Lakin villa.

After getting out of the car, Athena hurriedly ran towards the house.
