Athena was startled and hurriedly said, "Remarry? Didn't we agree to wait for Dad to come home together? Did any other children say anything to you at school?"
"No." Mia shook her head and said, "I won't go with Mr. Chambers to draw anymore. I have to study hard."
Mr. Chambers liked Mommy.
He must be the same as that stinky kid who wanted Mommy to remarry him!
Bad intentions!
She didn't want to give him a chance to get along with Mommy.
She wanted to wait with Mommy for Daddy to come back!
"This is your business. You make up your mind." Athena patted her head. "It's almost eleven o'clock. If you don't sleep, you won't be able to wake up tomorrow."
"Yeah," Mia spoke, opened her arms, and hugged Athena. "Mommy doesn't have to get up so early tomorrow. Martin will send us. You are too tired and should sleep longer!"
"Mommy will figure it out." Athena gently touched Mia's head. "Don't think about it."
"Okay..." Mia responded, then obediently climbed onto the bed and lay down.
Athena kissed her forehead. "Good night, Mia."
"Good night, Mommy!"
Athena walked to the door before turning off the lights. Her gaze swept over the drawer where Mia put her cell phone.
"Did she send messages to Byron every day?
If she didn't get a reply, she would be depressed and sad."
Athena's heart was full of pain.
Everyone in the family was asleep now.
Athena returned to Byron's room.
When they lived together, she never felt it was empty.
But now...
She looked around and felt this room was too big and cold.
She took a bottle of wine from the cabinet, curled up on the chair in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows, and looked at the darkness outside.
She didn't take the glass but just took the wine bottle and drank most of the wine.
