Chapter 1682 Always Happy and Carefree
Sally waved to Gideon.
The hesitation on Gideon's face was so intense that it seemed impossible to dispel.
He nodded again.
Sally also nodded and then stood up. There was no hug and no more overly sentimental words.
The words she had to say to Gideon had been spoken over the past sixteen years.
Eleanor had just sat down for a while.
She saw Sally come out.
"So fast! Can't you talk to Gideon a bit more?" Eleanor quickly stood up.
"You can rest assured. Gideon will live well from now on," Sally paused for a moment and then spoke very seriously to Eleanor, "Mrs. Eleanor Hale, whether you can take this to heart or not, I'm asking you please stop trying to control Gideon's life. He is indeed your child, but he's also an independent individual. Have you ever thought that if it wasn't for your child's love for you, would he fall for your illnesses every time? Be a better person." That was it.
Sally didn't intend to listen to Eleanor's response, either.
She walked past Eleanor as she walked toward Athena, who was waiting for her.
It was time for another sunset.
Athena asked Sally, "Did he agree to let go?"
"Yeah." Sally breathed a sigh of relief. "Athena, some things are magical. In the past, I always assumed that after our tragic ending, I would find someone better to make Gideon regret it. And I used to naively wish that Gideon would live his whole life in the pain of being unable to have me. But now that this day has come, I genuinely hope that Gideon can meet his destined love sooner, and I don't want him to be trapped in those sixteen years of our past forever."
"You are kind," Athena said gently.
If Gideon met her, could she make him live a better life?
For so many years, Sally endured bullying and injustice. Those supermodels and hot chick girlfriends came and went in succession.
From Athena's perspective, every single point could be considered a death sentence for Gideon.
