Byron was about to agree.
But his phone rang.
He glanced at it, and his face turned cold.
After he answered the phone, Athena knew that he would not be able to go to the snack street.
"Thea, there are still things I have to deal with in Girard City." Byron looked apologetic and then patted her head. "I will go back with you to Greeli City and stay there for some days after I finish the affairs."
"I see."
Athena nodded.
She wondered if he would really have time to go back with her.
Byron sent Athena back to the hotel.
Rose had already gone out.
Athena glanced at the door of Rose's room coldly and then went back to her room.
At dusk.
Rose came back exhaustedly.
Jaxson came and called Athena to have dinner together.
"Is there any news?" Athena asked slowly while drinking the soup.
Rose shook her head. "It's hard to find out whether my granddaughter is still living in Greeli City. I'm going to find Stacy first."
"How to find her?" Athena asked.
"She would be buried in the cemetery anyway. I will check all the cemeteries one by one and look for the tombstones one by one!"
Athena's hands froze.
She believed her mother didn't want to see Rose anymore.
"Madam Stella, have you ever thought that she might never want to see you again?" Athena raised her eyes to look at Rose. "According to what you said, the stains on a proud and outstanding person like her were all from you. How could she want to see you again?"
Rose's body was slightly stiff.
"I just wanted to apologize in person."
"She is dead. What's the use of apologizing?" Athena asked.
"Athena, why are you so aggressive today?" Rose frowned.
Every word Athena said today made Rose angry and uncomfortable.
"Sorry." Athena looked away. "I went home yesterday and found some of my mother's belongings. I didn't tell you, did I? My mother was also destroyed by my father's mistress. After suffering for several years, she still chose to die."
