My Mommy Became A Billionaire After the Breakup novel Chapter 1958

Byron's chest and forehead throbbed painfully, making it hard to breathe.

He didn't want to hear the young man's compromise, so he turned and pushed the door open to leave.

Alivia glanced up, and her voice rang out like magic. "Byron, being born here is both your fortune and your misfortune. If you want to survive, along with the surrounding people, you need to take action first. No mercy. It is better to make a mistake in killing than to let one slip by, which is the only way for you to rise to the top unchallenged and become an untouchable entity to everyone."

With a loud bang, the door slammed shut, and Byron felt like he was drowning in water.

The room around him reverted to his bedroom, and he collapsed wearily into a chair. Cold sweat coated his body, and he couldn't stop panting.

"You see, I told you before," a voice chimed in again.

Jacob, who had been apprehended, was sitting across from Byron at a table. He swung his long legs and wore a smile on his face that was both familiar and strange to Byron.

"Athena isn't the forgiving type. You'll have to watch your step for the rest of your life, or she'll cut you loose without a second thought," Jacob nonchalantly remarked. "But deep down, Byron, you've got a mean streak. You can't help but do some dirty deeds, which is why I'm sure your day of reckoning is on the horizon. It's payback time."

Byron stared at Jacob. "Shut up! If you keep spouting nonsense, I'll make sure you meet an unfortunate end!"

As he spoke, Jacob's smile on the other side of the table grew even more eerie.

Then, before Byron, Jacob gradually vanished.

A sense of unprecedented dread engulfed Byron.

He struggled to his feet, intending to get some pills to take, but his injured leg felt as heavy as lead and wouldn't budge.

After a tremendous effort, he managed to grab the pill bottle. Trembling, he spilled out a handful of pills and dry-swallowed them without water.

Byron knew that whether it was Julian, Lola, or Alivia, they were all hallucinations triggered by intense stress. They weren't real.

As Byron had taken the pills, the hallucinations would vanish.

"You're not awake yet?" a voice inquired.

The pills were gone, and a pair of polished shoes came into view.

Byron knelt on the floor, surrounded by scattered pills.

He slowly raised his head to see a more robust, younger, and loftier version of himself.

Dressed in a sharp black suit with diamond cufflinks that glistened menacingly, he exuded an air of condescension.
